Description
This is one of those 'what does this button do' moments. I had quite a nice photograph up on my computer and it didn't need changing. It just happened to be there when I started experimenting with a program I hadn't quite got the hang of. I was impressed with result and I think it adds a little impact to avoid it being just another flower image. The wonderful blue, star-shaped flower, that I used to create this image, is the spreading bellflower (campanula patula). This lovely hardy perennial, with it's delicate bell-shaped flowers which open up into a star shape, comes in various shades of blue and purple. It is the flower which represents the county of Dalarna, Sweden, where I now live. Their Swedish name translates to meadow bells, which I think is an even better name than bellflower. Although these beautiful flowers grow everywhere here, they are actually considered rare in England.
