Description
I love lupins. They are one of my favourite flowers and have been since I was just a few years old. I can even remember the first time I saw one, on a family holiday in Hemsby near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in England. There was a little lane we used to walk along. Somewhere along the lane was a plot of land where there were donkies. There was also a lovely pink and yellow lupin. My father liked lupins too, but had trouble getting them to grow. He would have loved it here in Sweden, where lupins grow everywhere and are treated like weeds. This particular lupin has long since finished flowering, but the seed pods still hold a lot of interest. As they dry out in the sun, the pods explode, scattering the seeds and leaving behind these lovely twisted shells. I've added lots of bright colours on this one, to catch the eye. Once drawn into the image, it's the lupin that takes over.
