This lilac image is one of a series of 10 photographs that I took for a contest. I named them Lilac 1 to 10 to start with and then tried to find something more interesting to call them. I've always liked lilac. There was a big lilac bush at the bottom of the next door garden. The garden belonged to my favourite aunt and uncle. Lilac will always remind me of them, but particularly my aunt. She left this world too soon just as these beautiful blooms always seem to die after just a few days. In Sweden, lilac is a very popular plant and it seems like every other garden has at least one bush. My garden is no exception. As I walk through the streets in the neighbourhood, it is quite amazing how many different colours there are. Mine is the old traditional colour which is quite light.
