When I first decided to upload my paintings to the Internet, I hadn't painted anything new for eight years. The excitement of sharing my work with others and seeing other's work relit my artistic desires and creativity and this lead to some interesting photography experiments. I also, at this time, started to enter a lot of online contests on Fine Art America. In fact I tried to enter them all. I could usually find some piece of work that would fit the requirements of the contest. Sometimes it wasn't so easy. The contest that I created this photograph for, asked for images that showed refracted light through water. It was early spring and far too early for pools and using a bathtub to create something, just seemed too messy. In the end, I came up with an idea that made sure my image would comply. I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
