The view as seen standing next to a lilac bush, looking up at the first flowers to open. Against the background of a bright blue Spring sky and with the sunshine shining through the leaves, creating some wonderful vibrant green colours, this was a really beautiful sight. All too often we walk past flowers without really appreciating their beautiful details. There hardly seems to be a garden in my neighbourhood that doesn't have a lilac bush, but I wonder how many people have taken a closer look at the beautiful buds with their wonderful cross pattern. once the buds open, the flowers are quite delightful, but viewed from a distance all the different colours merge into one. However highly these flowers are rated, in my view they are still underrated by many.
I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
