Artist's Description
An abstract image of hundreds of scary Halloween pumpkins, seemingly exploding out from the centre of the picture. No Halloween would be complete without a pumpkin, carved with a scary face and lit up with a fiery glow from inside. These pumpkins are a traditional part of Halloween celebrations. The pumpkins are known as jack-o'-lantern or will-o'-the-wisp and the history of pumpkin carving goes back hundreds of years. These days the pumpkins are more a decorative welcome than anything else, but they were traditionally placed in windows and entrances of property to scare away evil spirits, thought to roam the world on Halloween.

About Martin Howard
I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs. This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
