Artist's Description
I named this image Abstract Autumn Leaf, but I don't consider it to be abstract at all. I did add a posterizing effect and an oil painting effect, but all the time trying not to change the appearance of the image, only enabling a larger print size. It is just an ordinary leaf that I picked up from the ground. It even has a couple of holes in it. I just liked it's bright red and orange colours. When I held it up to the sunlight, I could see all the veins in the leaf, but by taking a macro photograph I could really appreciate the beautiful patterns and colours. That leaf has long returned to the earth, but I'm so glad I managed to preserve it's image.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
