I sometimes wonder if artists and photographers see the world differently to everybody else. Not only do they have the ability to take a scene and present it to the viewer from the best possible angle and creating maximum interest, but they see things that others pass by. I first became aware of this ability when I bought a book of photography by Linda McCartney. She created some wonderful images from everyday items, places and people. She was a great inspiration. The digital age has meant that one no longer needs to worry about film or processing costs, encouraging much more experimental photography. The luxury of being able to take 10 or more photographs to get just one good one, is available to everybody now, not just professional photographers. This image is one that caught my eye and I just couldn't resist capturing it.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
