75069 is one of just six surviving British Rail Standard Class 4 4-6-0 steam locomotives. There were eighty built in total, between 1951 and 1957. Locomotive 75069 can be found at the Severn Valley Railway. One of the the saddest facts about preserved steam railways is that they have to run on a tight budget. Very few staff actually receive a wage and it is thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who work on the railways for free, that these preserved lines can exist at all. Although much of the maintenance of the engines is performed by skilled volunteers, it can't all be done for free. Quite often, major repairs must wait many years while fundraising takes place. Such has been the case for this locomotive which as far as I know is currently waiting to undergo a major overhaul.undergoing an overhaul.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours.
