Artist's Description

It amazes me how much beauty there is in this world. Far away countries with wonderful landscapes, wildlife and flowers. Yet most of us don't see the incredible things on our own doorstep. In my road, there is an area of grassland that borders the footpath. Where the two meet there are lots of abandoned snail shells. I don't think I would ever have noticed them if it wasn't for my youngest daughter. She spotted them and found that it was great fun to stamp on them because of the sound of the shells crushing. I picked some up and I thought they looked quite pretty. These intricate structures fascinate me. They are really very beautiful, yet so fragile, so I thought I would preserve a few before someone steps on them. These shells look like they came from some exotic sandy beach, not just abandoned by the roadside.

I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs. This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
