Artist's Description
Sometimes when I have a few minutes to play around with, I take experimental photos of ordinary objects. I use close-ups, strange angles and throw in a few digital effects, to get some really unusual images. I would never sit down and paint something like this image, but if I happen to create it by experimenting, I'm not going to discard it. It feels a little bit like cheating when I end up with an image like this one, because I have used something that somebody else has created in order to make my own artwork. Ok, so the object is no longer recognisable and the pattern and colours on that object are changed, but it's the fact that I didn't know what I was doing when I took the photograph. It's a bit like a novice at pool, firing the cue ball into the other balls and somehow managing to pot three correct balls, while the expert stands there open-mouthed in disgust.

About Martin Howard
I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs. This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
