A macro image of blue Lobelia. During the summer, it's hard to go anywhere without finding lobelia flowers. These popular annual flowers are used in hanging baskets, window boxes and as an edging plant in flower beds. These small flowers are so impressive because of their numbers and together they give a vibrant blue splash of colour. They are great at filling in gaps and hang over the sides of pots and baskets, giving an extra dimension to displays.
I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
