Description
Windmill In The Willows was one of the first watercolour paintings that I did. At that time, I had a shortage of subject matter because I was painting several paintings each week. After I exhausted my own photos, I borrowed whatever pictures I could get from friends. This is one of those. The incredible thing about it is, that I had no idea where the windmill was, but not long after I painted it I found out quite by chance. I was on a family holiday to Horning, on the Norfolk Broads in England and the first morning at the house we were staying at, I opened the curtains, looked out and there it was. It could have been any windmill, but it was unmistakably the same one as I had painted. The painting was given away to very good family friends and all I had left until now, was a small photo. Using some digital texture effects, I was finally able to get a decent sized image again. Just to finish it off, I came up with an obvious fun title too.
