Description
I painted this watercolour landscape at the end of 2013. I took the photo on the 28th of November. Most years, there would have come snow by then, to this part of Sweden. In fact some years, there might have been snow for six weeks by then. Not in 2013. The winter was unusually mild and although the snow eventually came, in December, it managed to melt away again before Christmas. Scenes like this one are pretty rare. I was on my way to collect my children from school at about 2.00pm in the afternoon. This little wooded area is situated on top of a hill and as the sun sank down below the horizon, it's golden light on the clouds against the dark blue sky, with the silhouettes of the trees, caught my eye. How it would have looked if the snow had come, I will have to wait to find out.
