Description
This a watercolour painting that I did from one of my father's photographs which he took in the late sixties at Stoke Bruerne Waterways Museum. Stoke Bruerne is a village situated by the Grand Union Canal in Northamptonshire, England and was not too far from where I grew up. Needless to say, it is a popular destination for school trips and a much visited tourist destination. As a child, it didn't interest me. Looking at the photo now, I think it is very interesting and particularly scenic. As you can see, it was quite busy even back then. One thing that struck me about the scene was the man and woman guiding their young children over the lock gates. That is something that I find a bit scary to say the least. The locks are very deep and not the place to fall in, especially when there is a bridge just a short distance away.

Wonderful !!!......As a fairly new (4 months) member of FAA,I am still trying to discover what is required to have someone purchase my work. Having been awarded a feature in this group, I am voting and commenting on the work of others who have also been awarded in this group on the same date as I. I hope this will be another way to promote our efforts.
