Description
I was really looking forward to having a bit of time on my hands to go out and capture some local snow scenes to paint. I was particularly hoping to get some pictures with sunrise or sunset colours reflecting on the snow. It didn't really work out like I had planned. Firstly, there wasn't much of a winter and secondly, it's not as easy being in the right place at the right time of day and with the right weather conditions. There isn't a fine sunrise or sunset everyday and when they do do happen, they can be quite unexpected. Infact all the pictures that I did manage to get were nearly all by chance. Maybe that makes them more natural. This painting was from a photograph I took on the way home from collecting one of my daughters from school. I hadn't expected to take a photo just there, but the sun setting always gets my attention and I couldn't miss the way it was just disappearing over these rooftops and shining through the cluster of small trees onto the snow.
