Description
A beautiful and eye-catching display of light, split into it's individual component colours after passing through a glass crystal. There can't be many people that are not instantly attracted to the beauty of a rainbow. The colourful effect produced in a rainbow can be also be created by shining white light through glass with at least two different angles, causing the individual colour waves to be refracted differently. There is a glass crystal hanging in my kitchen window which on sunny days gives rise to small 'rainbow' patterns on the walls. The spectrum of colours produced is usually very defined, but on this occasion, the light patterns were inexplicably mixed (at least with my scientific knowledge). It was a wonderful abstract effect which I was lucky enough to spot and preserve in this photograph.
