Description
There is no more beautiful time of the year to go walking in the woods of England, than the spring when the bluebells are flowering. Sometimes it is just a sea of blue as far as the eye can see. When I was growing up, there was something magical about bluebells. People would pick big bunches of bluebells, even though they are quite short-lived once picked. It seems everybody has their own place where they go to see them and everybody knows it as 'the bluebell woods'. My particular bluebell woods was quite a walk from home, at the top of a chalk downs. It was on private farmland, but people would go there anyway. It was always exciting as we got nearer to the woods, to find the odd bluebell that had been dropped. It was like finding treasure! I had always wanted to do a painting of bluebells and when I painted this particular scene, I needed something to lead the eye through the painting. I put a jogger and her dog in the hot spring woods or is it a hot jogger in the spring woods?
