I don't normally feel that I need to explain my artwork titles, but just in case anybody takes this the wrong way here goes. This woman was an actress in a war series, 'Piece of Cake' about Spitfire pilots in France. (The use of Spitfires was an inaccuracy due to the lack of airworthy Hurricanes which would have been historically correct) She was young and pretty, but was killed in the series. Although it was only TV, it moved me to do this little sketch which only recently turned up after being forgotten for many years. Anyway, I love it. The actress, who is actually French is Corrine Dacla and she played the character of Nicole in Piece of cake. Corrine Dacla has appeared in several films, TV series and has done some theatre work. She was born in January 1962. I consider this sketch to be one of my best ever artworks because in my work I try work quickly and simply. It doesn't work out that way very often, but this one did.

This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
