Whenever I take a walk by the river, it's not long before I'm paid a visit by some inquisitive ducks. At first it may be only one or two, but soon they are joined by several more. If I ever take some old stale bread to feed them with then before I know it, there are ducks coming from all directions. Out of the bushes, trees, the far bank, behind me, upstream, downstream and in the air too. In fact they are probably flying in from the next town! On this occasion, I had no bread, so there were just a few Mallards following me. These two are a couple of females, distinguished by their mainly brown feathers. It was almost dusk and it was lovely to see the way the ripples made by the ducks interacted with the reflections of the bright sky colours and the dark overhanging tree.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
