Description
I love trees and I hate to see them felled. There was a group of Pussy Willow trees in my garden and after several years, they started to get tall. I don't think they have particularly strong root systems so I started to worry that they might be dangerous. Before I had made any decision about the trees, the decision was made for me. One windy day, I came home to find one of the biggest trees leaning over the neighbours garden. It had to be sawn up and several other trees were felled for safety reasons. I cut the trees into small logs and left them in a pile for disposal. This photo of part of the pile, shows how the wood has started to crack in the warm summer sunshine. I think it makes a great image and I enjoy studying the rings in the tree. The rings tell the story of the tree's life, but it's a great shame that these trees have come to their final chapter.
