Description
This is the spectacular view from just downstream of Bullerforsen power station in Borlange, Sweden. The station became fully operational in 1910 and was designed by architect Klas Boman. There are actually two power stations in the picture, the original construction is on the left, but has it been out of operation since 1998 when it was replaced by a new dam and power station, seen on the right. The original station was built at a time when it was fashionable for such constructions to look like something other than what it was, for example, a castle. Luckily this one has been carefully preserved and has even been used as a location for filming of a TV series.
