Art is what gives a painter his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us. It penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together. Who was it who said that? Anyway enough of that! This work of art, if it is indeed a work of art, was inadvertently created by somebody with a tin of spray paint. They were marking out an area for some sort of digging work. I happened to spot it and thought it made a great bit of abstract art. My goal as an artist and photographer is to find things like this and show them to others. Maybe they will also see the beauty I see in this or maybe they will just see a workman's markings. In the worst case, they may be wondering why anybody would bother to photograph this and asking if I had been locked up yet?

Abstract and surreal art 10/12/2013

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
