Description
One of the benefits of living on the edge of town in a country that is not overpopulated, is that houses are not built close together with postage stamp gardens. There's room to have a few trees in the garden. Trees seed themselves like weeds and some are allowed to grow, adding a little extra interest and structure. At present I think I have about ten different types of tree in my garden and that's without breaking it down into different varieties. One of my favourite trees is the birch. I just love the white bark with dark markings reminiscent of Dalmatian dogs. This scene shows a couple excellent examples of birch trees with 'Dalmatian' bark. These are growing on the side of someone's garden at the edge of the road in a little backstreet. They were beautiful, caught in the late evening sunshine and in all their autumn glory. I can't imagine that anybody would have planted them there, but they look great all the same.
