Standing under a maple tree on a sunny autumn day, looking up at the beautiful colours of the leaves, it's hard to think of anything else that captures so many of the season's colours. It's not just the colours that are so attractive, but the distinctive shapes of the leaves as they repeatedly counterchange one another. On top of that there are the shadows of individual leaves and little glimpses of the blue sky. Definitely a view I wouldn’t want to miss. Tomorrow it might rain or wind might blow the leaves down. It’s such a changeable season that it’s best to get out and enjoy it while it lasts.
I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
