These brilliant white blossoms are flowering on a plum tree in my garden. Together with the yellowy green new leaf growth and the bright blue sky background, they make a wonderful spring image. It would be all too easy to walk past this tree and just think how pretty it looked, but I stood under it and looked up and took this photograph. The result was a beautiful accident because unknown to me, the camera was set on posterize function. At first, I was disappointed by the mistake, but as I studied the image before me, I began to love it. It shows just how wonderful springtime is, a time to love!

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs.
