8F class locomotive, 48431, hauls a passenger train through the beautiful summer countryside of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. The 8F class 2-8-0 heavy freight locomotive was designed by William Stanier and was intended as a freight version of his popular class 5 4-6-0 mixed traffic engine, commonly known as the Black Five . In all 852 were built, initially for the London Midland and Scottish Railway, between 1935 and 1946. During the Second World War, the War Department ordered 208 8F's and requisitioned 51 more from the LMS. Between 1944 and 1946, 68 8F's were built for the London, Northern and Eastern Railway. 48431 was built in 1944 at Swindon Works for the LMS.

I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings. In recent months, I have had a little extra time on my hands, which has fuelled my artistic fire. I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs. This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
