These four boats, part of the small fishing fleet in Sennen Cove, sit safely on the beach at high tide. Big waves crash over the breakwater, built in 1908 as protection for the fishing boats and when the sea is as rough as this, the fishermen must be very pleased it's there. Sennen Cove is a little coastal village in the parish of Sennen in Cornwall, England. The village lies approximately two miles from land's End and is a popular surfing and tourist destination. This impressionist watercolour was painted from an excellent photograph by Terri Waters and I am once again indebted to her for allowing me to use her photography. I am an English Artist living in Borlange, Sweden since 2005. I have been painting on and off since the early eighties, in oils to begin with before moving on to watercolours. I also have an interest in photography which I have often used as part of my preliminary work for my paintings.
