Artist's Description

Commercially grown rose bushes are made by grafting a cutting onto a root stock. That ensures that the bush will be true to the cutting in much the same way as apple trees are grown. This particular rose bush was one of my absolute favourites, called Peace. Unfortunately, the harsh Swedish winter proved too much for the rose and the following spring no new growth came from the bush's old wood. However, the original root stock survived and sent up some strong new shoots. When this wild new growth produced buds, the flowers were simple and white, but they have a beauty of their own.

I find that I am experimenting much more with my photography to create more abstract images at the same time as learning new methods of processing photographs. This in turn, is influencing my ideas for paintings. Anybody visiting my website, will find a real mixture of styles and mediums and I believe, something for everybody. The reason that I paint or take...
