How many times do we do the same thing over and over again and then one day we do it for the last time and don't even know it. It could be going on holiday to a favourite place year after year and then deciding to try a new destination and never going back to that favourite place again. The last time you went there, you always thought you would be back. I think of all the times when I was little, that I walked hand in hand with my dad, to visit my Grandma. One day, for one reason or another, I did it for the last time. There are places and people in my life that I will never see again, but I can't say where or who they are. It's just a fact of life. I thought about that when I took this photograph. Those gorgeous red apples had been there for weeks and there had been many sunny days like this. The beautiful autumn colours of the leaves had been there several days and would still be there tomorrow or would they? I couldn't be sure. The next day was the same, but in less than a week almost every leaf and apple had fallen to the ground.
