Description
This apple tree is called "Rodluvan", pronounced rerdloovan. Rodluvan is Swedish for red hood which is their name for the Grimm brother's fairytale "Little Red Riding Hood". The tree is so named because it produces lovely deep red apples with pink flesh. They are very delicious and because the apples do not keep very well, I am forced to eat lots of incredibly tasty apple pies each September and October. Not only is this tree very pretty in the spring, when it blossoms, but also in the autumn, when it is always heavily laden with fruit. In this image, I've removed the colour from everything apart from the apples. I love this technique and I think it looks very impressive. Here I used it to accentuate the beautiful colour these apples have and the lovely autumn display they make.
