Description
This was one of those 'save for later' pictures. In it's raw state, it wasn't anything to show, but it had some nice patterns that I thought might make a good texture. The patterns reminded me of some of the swirly psychedelic images from the late sixties, particularly the sort of thing that Pink Floyd used in their stage displays. I also remember making similar patterns at school by using a few drops of different coloured waterproof inks, swirled around on top of a bucket of water. We laid circles of paper on the water and ink for a few seconds and when the paper was removed, the ink patterns were preserved on the paper. This image was not quite as much fun to create as those at school. This was actually a frying pan which I left to soak with hot water and washing up liquid. The patterns were a mixture of oil and bubbles and the colours were added using digital effects. Still a pretty cool result though!
