Description
This beautiful red clover is a perfect example of why size matters. Looking at this image, nobody could deny that this a very pretty flower. It also has a wonderful perfume and yet it is classed as a weed! It reminds me of when my mother-in-law told me about how, when she lived in New Zealand, she had mowed freesias as if they were grass. Freesias are one of my absolute favourite flowers and I just can't ever imagine mowing them. Maybe there is someone who would feel the same way about me mowing red clover. Unfortunately, it is just too small to be appreciated. If it was much bigger, it really would be a stunning flower to have in the garden. Thankfully, through photography, we can get see how beautiful these flowers really are. How ironic that something so small should resemble a tree filled with pink elephants!
This image has been digitally enhanced to allow larger print sizes and will have an oil painting effect when viewed at full resolution.
