Description
It's quite amazing what a computer can do with a little luck and the wind in the right direction. This image started out as a watercolour landscape. The inspiration for this work, one of my previous images, Psychedelic Forest Stream with the addition of text, comes from the 1967 hit single by The Small Faces, Itchycoo Park. It comes from a time when the use of drugs was commonplace and the song could be dismissed as just another trippy pop song, but Steve Marriott who wrote and sang it was actually having a go at the education system in England. The more I listen to the words, the more I reflect on my own confusion in school. From an early age, I began to question how I could be taught two subjects which couldn't both be believed, science and religion. I think I leaned towards science being true and religion being false because I was taught science as being fact, but religion was just a faith and took more of a back seat. However, as I get older I am beginning to see that much science is theory and huge chunks of it are slowly being acknowledged as having no evidence. The more I look at the beauty and complexity of this world, the more I find it hard to believe that it just evolved from nothing over millions of years. What the real truth is I don't know, but I was never going to learn it at school.
